Gibson Les Paul BFG in Trans Gold. I started hunting for these soon as they announced they were delivering them. This is a very early production model, first one I could find.
Nice Goldtop color, one of the best tops for this Les Paul BFG guitar. This Gibson guitar has maple top, mahogany body and rounded neck (50’s profile neck), and no gloss finish, nice faded finish all over it and rosewood fingerboard. Chambered weight relief.
Grover tuners, one P90 pickup on neck and one Burstbucker 3 on bridge so you can get a total blues sound.
Has a built-in killswitch where the normal LP have the PU switch.
Two volume and one tone, one 3-way PU switch.
Serial number is: 014480613 MADE IN USA 2008.
Remember this guitar is a “raw” guitar, so there is no truss rod cover as factory original.
The guitar has no fret wear and is close to new condition except for the stated modifications, very little playing time on it. The P90 in the bridge just growls. Low action and nice lighweight of 7.4 lbs on an accurate digital scale.
The neck size is right between a ’60s and ’50s, not too thin and not too large, very comfy. Being a thin satin finish, the back of the neck is very fast.
